we all love to make decorations for the tree and to dress the house! its my fave time of the year!
We always make Christmas cards (even for school friends) and gift tags. It doesn’t sound much, but it gives us quality time together and is a lovely personal touch..
We love to make our own Christmas Cards, and Christmas window decorations using glass paints. We also bake a gingerbread house! My little 3year old girl loves it, especially decorating it and eating all the sweets and chocolates while doing it, hehe!
peppermint creams, by hand of course, – all that icing sugar going everywhere – it looks like a winter wonderland in the kitchen
My 3 year old loves crafts so this Christmas we made a full nativity set. We made a stable from a cardboard box and paper mache, then used round pegs to make the people with scraps of felt and fabric as clothes. It took us a good few days to get it finished but it’s finally done and looks fab (But very hand-made!!) Even though we’re not religious, it gave him an insight into why we celebrate Christmas. He is now slightly obsessed with baby Jesus as a result and asks me if every baby we see is caled Jesus!
Every Year I buy five red sacks and my four children and step daughter are given free rein with glitter, glue, paper, paint and anything else they can find. They personalise their sacks to leave out for Father Christmas and although it makes SO much mess its always really good fun and very christmassy.
This year I had presumed my eldest son (17) wouldnt want to join in but the look on his face when i said I was only going to get 4 sacks!!!
Five happy children will spend this weekend shopping for decorations before they begin decorating on Sunday xxx
