here is my entry to the Delia Smith christmas cake mix competition
many thanks
Hi Ryan
Do you have a Christmas Cake Decoration Activity Idea? We are seeking to pick 5 winners from your creative ideas to make on the show in a couple of weeks time on 10th December when it comes to decorating the your Christmas Cake.
If you can provide clear step by step instructions for an idea for decorating your Christmas cake, that would be great.
My competition entry is
Make lots of little bricks out of ready to roll icing and build an igloo. You can stick the bricks down with either edible glue or for a less polished look, apricot jam.
Hi Cath
Very creative idea. Thanks for your entry. Keep the ideas coming in.
my christmas cake decoration entry is
get some grean royal icing if possible and cut a shape of a christmas tree out. place this on your cake and then use gold edable balls to use as baubles and then use icing pens to put some look a like tinsel on. then get a small square piece of royal icing and stick this below to make it look like the trunk.
there you have it!

Hi Michelle
Thanks for your entry. Looks nice and easy for the little ones.
How do you make lady gaga cry?
Poker face.
How do you make lady gaga happy?
Just dance.
Thanks Ben. That’s great.
My little ones love helping me make the snow effect on the icing ontop of the cake-before the icing sets let the little ones have a fork each and use it to pull up through the icing making ‘snow-spikes’! Amazing effect, then add homemade snowmen to the top (easy for little ones to make)
My favourite simple Christmas Cake decoration I have brought through my life from way back at Primary school and I still use it now!! You can do it with the kids, but scissors are involved so do supervise carefully!
Make a cone of green royal icing. Make sure it has a flat base. Take your scissors and carefully snip little V shapes all the way around the cone. These are your branches.
Ta da! A Christmas tree! You can stick on little silver balls with blobs of icing if you like, but I like them just as they are, with a dusting of icing sugar for that snowy feel. Lovely.
Hi Hayley
Thanks for your suggestion. This is great and really easy for kids to do.
Good Luck

H Laura

Phew, I have just met the deadline. Here’s my suggestion for Chrimtmas Baubles. A nice easy one is to roll some ready to roll icing into balls, dropping a different colour food colouring into each one. You can then pull it out a bit a the end and tie a small piece of silver ribbon around the end. Sprinkle with a bit of edible glitter for extra effect.
