This is fun chemical reaction that amazes children of all different ages. To create your green explosion you will need the following:
Equipment
1 Plastic Bottle half filled with vinegar
2 A good squirt of washing up liquid
3. A few drops of food colouring
4. A couple of teaspoons of bicarbonate of soda wrapped in a single ply tissue.
Instructions
Half fill a plastic bottle with vinegar. Add a couple of good squirts of washing up liquid. Add a few drops of food colouring. Then wrap a couple of teaspoons of bicarbonate of soda into a tissue to form a ball. Put the ball into the bottle and stand back in amazement as you watch the chemical reaction.
Learning
This experiment helps children to understand about chemical reactions and mixing acid and alkaline. You can also talk to younger children about colour mixing.

Do not allow children to eat the solution
