Mary, Mary, Quite Contrary

Mary, Mary, quite contrary

Now this picture is very strange indeed, but the best I could find believe it or not for the Mary, Mary, quite contrary nursery rhyme in the whole wide world.  I apologise in advance if it sends the creeps up your children.

Here are the words to the nursery rhyme Mary Mary Quite Contrary

Mary, Mary, quite contrary,
How does your garden grow?
With silver bells and cockle shells
And pretty maids all in a row.

But you can’t fault the nursery rhyme with all those pretty things to enjoy, although my daughter loves to sing with ‘crockrel’ shells which doesn’t sound quite so dainty. I’ve also had years of fun with my own kids during their terrible twos when calling them a contrary Mary. To which my 2 year old boy replied “I am not a contrary Mary, I am a gorgeous boy”. What do you think to the nursery rhyme Mary Mary Quite Contrary? Have you had any fun with it?

Or maybe this is more scary…
