We often think a child learns mainly from toys with educational labels. Whilst our educational toys do link to the Foundation Stage Curriculum, our Free Play range brings out essential qualities in children, such as developing imagination, problem-solving and social interaction skills. Our toys in this range have been chosen with care so that they are not over stimulating, thus ensuring maximum imaginative play for a child.

The aim of our Free Play range is to enable you to select toys that you would feel comfortable in giving to your child to play alone with or with unsupervised friends, and observe the learning from a distance. As the name of this range suggests, there is complete freedom to play with the toys, and your only requirement is to be on hand in case you are needed for any reason.

Our Free Play range includes role play toys, construction toys, dolls and houses. We also stock a wide range of HABA toys, known for their imaginative play ideas.

The process of imaginative play encourages children to ask themselves questions and then experiment to find the answers. A typical question to be raised through free play would be “What happens if ….?” with children then testing out the consequences, which in turn form the basis of scientific thought. Children also practice other skills through free play, such as language, numbers, and physical co-ordination – these are all valuable elements in their on-going progress and development.
