The North Wind Doth Blow

Wind turbines Scroby Sands (25)

Here are the words to the nursery rhyme The North Wind Doth Blow..

The north wind doth blow,
And we shall have snow,
And what will poor robin do then?
Poor thing!
He’ll sit in a barn,
And keep himself warm,
And hide his head under his wing.
Poor thing!

Do you remember this one? My memory of this nursery rhyme reinforced my reality of my bedroom being absolutely freezing when I was little and this nursery rhyme made it feel 100 times worse. It was fuelled with images of freezing cold snow and ice and a lonely little robin. My mum would read that to me then go night night and leave me to it. But some how they’ve managed to make it look really sunny in this video. We project things in a far more positive light than we did in the early 1980′s. In fact we can even go so far to project this nursery rhyme in the positive light that the cold north wind even rotates our wind turbines. How cool is that?
