Little Helper

Busy parents may feel a little guilty when time spent with their children sometimes revolves around daily and weekly chores. Our Little Helper range provides the ideal solution. It enables children to join parents in those unavoidable tasks, and promotes productive and enjoyable time together.

We all know that when children get involved in chores, they don’t always go according to plan. However, as long as parents are prepared for them to take longer than normal, then involving children in these activities can provide valuable learning opportunities.

Young children gain a tremendous amount through participating in everyday routines. They start developing physical and intellectual skills at an early age, and the activities can often prompt questions that lead to engaging conversations. Children also gain satisfaction and confidence through completing easy tasks. The educational benefit of these activities is the meaningful context they provide for abstract concepts. For example, counting spoons, knives and forks as you lay the table helps children understand a reason for counting.

Encouraging and trusting older children to get involved in cleaning, cooking, laying the table, making the bed, feeding the pets, washing the car and gardening gives them a sense of self-worth and personal satisfaction.

Our Little Helper range of easy-to-handle, child-sized cleaning, gardening and baking equipment gives your “little helper” meaningful tools to gain that extra bit of independence. These tools can also enhance their enjoyment of the end result. For example, children are more likely to enjoy their food if they have had some involvement in its preparation, and may enjoy eating vegetables if they have helped to grow them.

We are constantly researching and developing our Little Helper range so that children can participate safely in a wide range of routine domestic activities. If you have any ideas to share with us, please email info@izziwizzikids.co.uk, or use our customer feedback form.
